Yesterday, Verina Daly Care employees got involved with the Dementia Tour training day. The 3 hour sessions helped staff to understand the impact dementia has on the senses; affecting sight, hearing and touch. Here is the feedback back from some of the team members who took part yesterday.
“I found the training very interesting, what an eye opener! Until you feel it yourself, you have no idea how much dementia affects people. I learnt so much in 3 hours about the different sounds that people hear, the way they see colours – particularly red as it stands out – the sensations on your feet, like pins and needles. It was very interesting!” – Tracey
“I’m still amazed by the colour part and I agree definitely an eye opener had so much fun as well it was brilliant!” – Kayley
Thank you to all our wonderful carers who participated, getting the most out of the day!
